Well… that wasn’t quite the plan was it? 😅

At the end of May, I had a pretty serious accident out doing something I love - out there on the mountains!

One bad fall later, and I was left with multiple serious injuries to my legs, arm & face! I’ve had a fair few operations, a stint in ICU and now have a long road of rehab ahead of me

I won’t lie, it’s been tough. But I’m ready to smash this!

I’ll be sharing a bit more about what happened over the next few weeks, along with the highs, the lows and everything in between as I work towards getting back out into the mountains. And yes... I fully intend to get back there!!

I also want to say a genuine thank you to everyone who’s messaged, checked in, or passed on their best wishes through AB Clinical. It honestly means more than you probably realise.

A massive thank you as well to Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue. I can’t speak highly enough of the team that came to my rescue that day. Absolute legends, and people I’ll always be grateful to.

And finally, to my wife Kathryn.

She’s kept me going through all of this, helped keep the clinic running alongside Sian, and somehow managed to look after me when I’m probably not the easiest patient in the world.

Right then...time to crack on with the rehab! 💪

Childhood obesity is one of those conversations people are scared to have honestly nowadays.

But avoiding it doesn’t help kids. And pretending it’s not a problem definitely doesn’t help them either.

I know first-hand how hard it is carrying extra weight - physically and mentally. And for a lot of adults struggling now, the patterns started when they were children.

This really isn’t about shaming kids. It’s not about making children count calories or obsess over the scales.

It’s about giving them the best chance of a healthy future.

Better habits. Better relationships with food. Less ultra-processed rubbish. More movement. More support.

Because obesity doesn’t just affect appearance - it affects confidence, energy levels, mental health, long-term health risks and quality of life.

And as adults, it’s our responsibility to guide kids towards healthier lifestyles without making them feel guilty or ashamed for where they’re starting from.

The earlier good habits are built, the easier life becomes later on!

I’ll say it straight (no surprise)

If you’re putting something into your body, you need to know exactly what it is, where it’s come from, and that the person prescribing it is properly qualified to do so.

GLP-1 medications can be a brilliant tool when they’re used safely, correctly, and alongside proper support. But the amount of counterfeit pens and unsafe prescribing out there at the minute is genuinely worrying.

Your health isn’t worth risking to save a few quid.
